The new Sustainable Traditional Building Alliance (STBA) paper on Moisture properties of insulation materials and their applicability to traditional construction produced by the UK Centre for Moisture in Buildings is available now.

This paper discusses how insulation should be specified in traditional buildings and provides clarity around vapour permeability, ‘breathbility’ and moisture risk.

Produced by UKCMB and funded by Historic England, Historic Environment Scotland, Cadw/ Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh government, and Department for Communities, it offers clear definitions, scientific context, and practical guidance for retrofit teams.
