On 20th June 2024, UCL Honorary Senior Research Fellow Dr Peter Rickaby attended the air
infiltration and ventilation centre (AIVC) online webinar ‘New developments in the design and characterisation of energy efficient ventilation systems’. AIVC is the International Energy Agency’s information centre on energy efficient ventilation.
The webinar aimed to inform architects, engineers, building professionals and researchers on new developments in design and characterization of energy-efficient ventilation systems for dwellings. Topics discussed included new indicators and assessment methods that have been developed in the research community, how performance-based methods can help to develop ventilation solutions for specific applications such as renovation of existing dwellings, and new solutions and tools have been introduced by the ventilation industry to assist and inform designers.
