The British Standards Institution (BSI) ran a webinar on Monday 29th April 2024, to promote BS 40104, Retrofit assessment for domestic dwellings – Code of practice and encourage participation in the forthcoming public consultation.
BSI says ‘there’s a pressing need to improve the energy efficiency of UK homes to reduce fuel poverty and CO2 emissions, as well as to improve health and well-being.’
To support this, the new BS 40104, Retrofit assessment for domestic dwellings – Code of practice will be launched for public consultation in May 2024, which will will expand on the principles for retrofit assessment and standardize a thorough retrofit assessment methodology.
In this consultation stage they want to encourage the widest possible input into the standard to make it as robust and effective as possible, which is why they are running the webinar.
Dr Peter Rickaby (UKCMB Principal Research Associate and Business Manager) gave an overview of the Retrofit Standards Framework.
