The UK government guidance on ‘Understanding and addressing the health risks of damp and mould in the home’ has recently been published. It is a direct response to the Coroner’s report on the tragic death of toddler Awaab Ishak, which included a catalogue of failures and a housing provider that abdicated its responsibilities to his family and hid behind legal processes.
Dr Hector Altamirano, UKCMB Academic Director was part of the advisory group of experts who was consulted when the guidance was developed.
